Common Cloverwing

Out of the many varied forms of flight that have evolved by 40MYL, one of the odder types is that of the cloverwings. Named after their resemblance to a monster from the movie Cloverfield, they have long wings which they walk on the tips of. The added muscle gives their wings the ability to stay in the correct shape, even during the windiest weather and the toughest conditions, but this comes at the price of them having far heavier wings than other species. There are many forms, including predators, seed-eaters and frugivores.

Common cloverwings (Carnedentem tridactylus, 'three-footed flesh tooth') have taken a form similar to the azdarchids of our own timeline. They stand at a similar height to a human, at the shoulder, although their long necks make them taller. They have three crests on their head which they use to attract the opposite gender. The base of the crest is usually the same in both genders, although males have a far more extravagant set of feathers on top.

ARTIST'S NOTE: The wings appear to be unsettlingly short for this one... No redraws however as the original artwork is lost somewhere teehee xD
